The History

In 1879 the street officially got its current name: the Prins Hendrikkade. Hendrik was the youngest son of King Willem II en brother of King Willem III. De prince had great interest in the trade and shipping business. Because of this he got the nickname: Hendrik the Seafarer. Parts of the street were formerly known by different names. Nowadays there are many amazing sights. All of them in walking distance from Parking Centre Oosterdok.
