SOCIETY AND CULTURE AT PAKHUIS DE ZWIJGER

Pakhuis de Zwijger first opened its doors in 2006, in the former refrigerated warehouse on the Piet Heinkade 179. They now organise about 600 programmes per year, and practically all of these can be attended free of charge. The programmes are about themes such as the creative industry, the city and global trends. Interesting documentaries are regularly shown, guest speakers are invited and discussion panels started as a natural part of this.

The complete programming is collected in so-called ‘dossiers,’ so that the information discussed and shared can be accessible to anyone. Additionally, they also have podcasts, news reports and a magazine. As a result, Pakhuis de Zwijger is both an online and an offline platform that’s accessible to everyone.

JOINING VIA LIVESTREAM

Are you housebound but would still like to watch Pakhuis de Zwijger’s programmes? A limited number of spots is given away to people wanting to watch via livestream. You need to make a reservation in the agenda in advance. Of course, this is also the case when you do come to Amsterdam to watch a lecture, discussion or movie screening.

Because the lectures are free of charge, Pakhuis de Zwijger is open to donations. You don’t have to pay, although a contribution as you see fit is always appreciated.
